Her Story
From the Rock to the top of Halifax real estateI am a native Newfoundlander, the only child of Martha and Joe. My background is humbling — my Mother worked at our local fishplant and my Father at the shipyard. If I was to learn anything growing up, it was this: work hard, stay focused, be happy, and above all, believe in yourself. In 1988, I left the Rock in pursuit of becoming a police officer. The Ontario lights were calling. It was there that I pursued university, then college. After graduating from Law and Security, I worked in group homes learning conflict crisis resolution — before realizing I didn't have the courage to pursue law enforcement after all. Fast forward twenty years, and that journey led me back to Atlantic Canada, where my real estate career was waiting. Of all the crazy things I could do, I launched a new career in Halifax at 40, in a city where I knew a handful of people. Real estate was going to be no different from every challenge before it: work hard, hustle, grind. I knew that from day one. I am a firm believer that who we were yesterday makes us who we are today. No regrets. Only gratitude and appreciation for every mountain climbed. |
